Course
Work/
Educational Objectives
Our
program consists of 780 hours/49.5 quarter credits
of both classroom and
lab coursework in massage training, as well as an
internship outside of class at
school. Both courses and internship run consecutively.
This education trains you
to be an experienced entry-level therapist in massage
clinics or day spa settings
upon graduation.
Classroom hours consist of lecture,
discussion, demonstrations and hands-on
practice in
a wide variety of massage techniques. Students pair
up and practice
while instructors provide one-on-one guidance. This
environment assists in
students developing their massage skills, desirable
habits & attitudes, and on
the job training.
Continuing
Education
If
you are interested in taking a course or two without
going through our entire program, we'd be happy to
accomodate you. The cost is $17.50 per course hour.
Clinic
Internship Program
Healing
Mountain Clinic Internship Program provides inexpensive
massage
and spa treatments to the public. It is the most comprehensive
hands-on education
program of its kind in the Western United States.
Our clinic program is designed to
provide a real life educational experience. This experience
is essential for becoming successful practitioners.
Students work on clientele in private treatment rooms,
in
a safe and supportive environment. Students' confidence
and skills expand while
they learn the many intricate aspects of practicing
massage therapy.
Students
also have opportunities to provide massage at community
events like
health conferences, athletic races, and fund raisers;
and/or outreach programs,
like retirement homes and hospices. These are important
opportunities to educate
and serve the public, and those in need in our community.
