Bodywork Techniques

 

Relaxing Swedish Massage

   Swedish massage stimulates blood and lymph circulation,
relieves common muscle tension or soreness and promotes
relaxation. It combines gentle stroking movements with kneading,
pressing, rubbing with thumbs, fingers or heel of the hands.
Swedish massage is exceptionally effective on stress.

 Deep Muscular Massage
50 min $35 • 80 min $50 • 110 min $70

   Deep Sports massage uses sustained pressure to release
chronic muscle tension, focusing on tissues of the musculoskeletal
system and joints. By loosening knots caused by physical activity,
recurring sport injuries, and chronic inflexibility or postural
problems, Deep Sports massage is perfect for
professional and weekend athletes alike.


   Shiatsu
50 min $25 • 80 min $37 • 110 min $50

   Shiatsu means "finger pressure." It is a noninvasive form
of acupressure massage involving pressure and strokes to
oriental acupoints all over the body to alleviate muscle tension
and stress, balancing the body's internal energy. A typical
session is conducted on a mat, or massage table.
Since no oil is used, undressing is not necessary.

Lymphatic Massage

   Lymphatic massage is a soothing treatment that encourages
the lymph system to carry away excess fluid in loose
connective tissues, removing metabolic waste and toxins.
It also produces white bood cells that keep you healthy as they
fight off disease. Lymphatic massage is good for swelling,
headaches, acne, congestion, immune system
deficiency and post-mastectomy pain.

   CranioSacral Therapy
50 min $25 • 80 min $37 • 110 min $50

   CranioSacral therapy uses soft touch -- holding -- to coax skull
and face bones to release tension and promote correct alignment.
This therapy can be used on people with whiplash, back injuries,
severe menstrual problems, migraines, temporomandibular
joint syndrome, or multiple sclerosis. It can be perfomed in
combination with other bodywork modalities or on its own.

   4-Handed Massage
50 min $45

   Two students work in tandem to massage the body.
Clients find it easier to let go of tension. Because each
student works for 1 hour, the massage is equal to a 2-hour session.

   Couples Massage
70 min $70 • 100 min $94

   This is perfect for a romantic date. The treatment is in a
larger room with two massage tables and two practitioners.
Couples recive either a 70 or 100 minute massage session.


Hot Stone Swedish Massage
70 min $35 • 100 min $50

   We encorporate smooth dark basalt stones, which are
heated, into our swedish massage session. Combining
deep heat with the swedish massage techniques
will help to relaxe stubbornly tight muscles.

 

Spa Treatments

 Eucalyptus Steam Bath
30 min $15 • A La Cart $20

  Up to 30 minute session, followed by a cool shower. Steam
promotes free perspiration to cleanse pores, improves
circulation, and soothes dry and irritated nasal
passages, bronchial tubes, and lungs.

European Dry Brush Massage
30 min $17 • A La Cart $22

   Sometimes called a "dry brush bath", this form of hydrotherapy
does not use any water. It is a gentle exfoliation treatment
where the student uses soft bristle brushes to massage
the body. It feels like being preened.

Oriental Hot Rocks Therapy
30 min $15 • A La Cart $20

   This is an excellent pre-treatment for tight, stiff, achy muscles.
Hot sauna rocks w/eucalyptus are placed on your back from the base
of the neck down to the sacrum. Weight from the rocks applies gentle
pressure to oriental acupoints to balance all the major organ systems of
the body, while their radiating warmth relaxes and soothes tight muscles.

Royal Danish Salt Scrub
30 min $20 • A La Cart $30

   This is passed on from the masseuse of the Danish royalty
in Copenhagen. Using hot water and sea salt, the body is wet down
with flaxen mittens and the skin is scrubbed acting as an exfoliant
and detoxifier. This treatment is followed by a refreshing shower.

Mineral Foot Bath & Reflexology Rub

   A soothing mineral bath is prepared for your feet. After soaking,
a reflexology treatment is performed on the feet to relieve
congested areas and to promote better health.

Spa "Pedi-CARE" Package

We begin with a warm/hot mineral salts footbath soak, next a
peppermint exfoliation foot scrub, rinse, then a warm stone
foot rub, and lastly a reflexology session with mint lotion.


Acupressure Facial

   Following basic principles of Oriental Medicine, this facial
incorporates many acupoints on the scalp, face, neck,
shoulders and chest to tonify muscles, enhance beauty,
relieve aches and pains, strengthen the senses, and create
easier breathing. Since no oils are used, your makeup
is not disturbed. It's a perfect splurge.

Stone Facial

   A unique facial using small river-polished stones following
basic principles of Oriental Medicine, incorporates many acupoints
on the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and chest to tonify muscles,
enhance beauty, relieve aches and pains, strengthen the senses,
increase circulation to nourish the skin, reducing puffiness
around the eyes and create easier breathing.

Herbal Body Wrap

   The client is literally wrapped in hot sheets soaked in herbs.
The body is totally relaxed and revitalized simultaneously.
Pores open to allow healing herbs to enter the skin.

Dry Sweat Body Wrap

   This wrap is preceded by a Eucalyptus Steam treatment,
and is followed by being wrapped in successive layers of sheets,
blankets & towels to enhance the detoxification process.

Energy Based Modalities

   Tibetan Reiki Energy Treatment
30 min $15 • 50 min $25

 Practitioners of this ancient Tibetan healing system use light hand
placements to channel healing energies to the recipient. While practitioners
may vary widely in technique and philosophy, Reiki is commonly used to
treat emotional and mental distress as well as chronic and acute physical
problems, and to assist the recipient in achieving spiritual focus and clarity.
Sometimes massage and Reiki are blended together by the practitioner.

Crystal Chakra Balancing

   Our bodies are bioelectric in nature -- that is, our bodies
emit subtle electric charges that can be detected on sensitive
medical equipment. These radiant electric waves are either
absorbed, reflected, or amplified by colored stones and crystals that
are laid within the body's bio-energetic field. The effect can be subtle
to overwhelming as the body's energy fields are brought back into
balance. Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health is
restored via regular treatments.
